MSC Study Day – Working with Men

We are continually striving to learn and improve and are running another study day.

Working with Men: a day’s workshop at Saxon Hall – Putson Community Centre HR2 6HE

18th November  10.00am to 3.00pm

With Rotimi Akinsete

Psychotherapist and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant

Author of ‘This Book Could Help: the Men’s Headspace Manual’ and facilitator of the series ‘Black Men on the Couch’.

The Workshop

With the focus upon Men’s Mental Health, the workshop will explore the interplay between gender, class, identity, race and masculinity.

It will look at the stigma which still exists and bring a critical perspective to bear on how society shapes our expectations.

Rotimi will be sharing many insights and strategies drawn from his career in mental health and social justice. A not to be missed opportunity of updating your own thinking on cultural sensitivity and the role of intersectionality in therapeutic practice. You are invited to bring your own case studies for discussion alongside the real life scenarios he will present.

To join us on this journey of self-discovery and professional growth, please contact the Administrator at marches.counselling@gmail.com or telephone 01432 279906; mobile 07527 579488 to book a place.

The cost of the workshop is £75 for the day with lunch and refreshments provided. If you are a therapist working as a volunteer we have some funding to offer you a concessionary rate.

Please note members of MCS can attend for the reduced cost of £50.
