At Marches Counselling Service we work with Businesses, voluntary sector or non-profit sector organisations across Herefordshire and the Marches.
We recognise that within these organisations people want to look after themselves and their staff by providing any or all of the following:-
We have been working with some local businesses for many years providing extra support for their staff when needed. We are always open to working with more.
Running a business can be very stressful in itself impacting hugely on an individuals wellbeing in their personal and business lives. Work stresses, personal issues and concerns can impact on individual staff throughout a business too. Ultimately this can affect productivity it’s important for an organisation to look after its staff. When personal issues are brought up in 1:1’s or reviews by individuals, an organisation can confidentially refer them to us for counselling sessions. The business often chooses to cover the cost of an assessment and a set number of counselling sessions for their member of staff. We will then work directly, in private, away from the business concerned, with that individual staff member.
One local business, Wye Valley Brewery commented ” we advocate discussion between individuals and their line managers ….. open and frank discussions are held regarding staff members general health and wellbeing.” Staff found “the approach and support to be positive and helpful. This in turn ensured staff feel more comfortable in their roles at work and less isolated ….. staff at Marches Counselling have given some of our employees the tools so their day to day lives are more manageable.”
There are many paid staff working or individuals volunteering in voluntary sector or non-profit sector organisations across Herefordshire and the Marches, who could be helping people with mental health issues. We work in partnership with some of these organisations who can refer individual service users of theirs, to us for counselling and psychotherapy by our trained professionals. We can also provide support and supervision for staff/volunteers providing pastoral care or supporting colleagues with mental health issues.
Our partner organisations include The Cart Shed, The Hub in Ross and The Hub in Newton Farm, Hereford.
