Counselling service Hereford

Don’t forget – A very small, simple, helpful way of supporting us is to follow our social media posts. Like, comment or share. This helps raise our profile which increases the chance of those needing affordable counselling in Hereford or Herefordshire, knowing about us.

Volunteering with MCS

Volunteering with Marches Counselling Service is a great way to support our charity and help us to provide affordable therapy to individuals or couples who may not otherwise be able to access it. We welcome help from those who are experienced or willing to learn. Whether you have regular time which you could offer, or specialist skills and a little time to spare, we will be happy to talk with you about what might be possible. As we provide counselling and psychotherapy to those living anywhere in Herefordshire or beyond, not all voluntary work has to be in Hereford itself.

Here are a few examples of how you might like to support us by sparing some of your time.

Volunteer Fundraiser

Here at Marches Counselling Service we know that counselling can change lives, but that the cost can prevent people from accessing the therapy they need. As well as fundraising from charitable trusts and big funders like the Lottery, we would like to raise our profile in Herefordshire and develop our local community fundraising. This could be from sponsorship, social events, business donations, online giving or any other way that will bring cash in to keep down the cost of counselling for those who need it most.

Finding volunteers with fundraising experience would be wonderful, but if you have some time, energy, ideas and want to make a difference we would love to hear from you. We are a small charity, based in Hereford, run in a way which is mindful of what our funding is given for, where everybody’s contribution is valued.

Volunteer as a Trustee, a Board Member

As a trustee, you could contribute to the overall management and development of the service.  We welcome enquiries from people with experience of working in the business, care or third sector and/or who have lived experience and interested in contributing to helping us to meet our aims and develop the services we provide. A firm belief in the value of therapy is essential.

Do you have some spare time and would like to contribute to the running of our service making therapy more affordable and accessible to more people?

Volunteer Clinical Placement

If we feel experience and previous work provides appropriate skills, we offer clinical placements to people in their final year of a new training.

Clinical placements make up 25% of our counsellors. Placements are voluntary and help us offer our service at a cost matched to peoples circumstances.
