National Lottery Community Fund

The Trustees of Marches Counselling Service are delighted to announce that they have secured funding from the Big Lottery – Reaching Communities Programme.

Over the next three years the funding will help expand our services into towns across Herefordshire. The Marches Counselling Service is developing relationships with organisations across Herefordshire who can refer clients who would benefit from therapy, but also welcomes enquiries from individuals. The funding will subsidise the cost of counselling for clients on low incomes and support staff roles in the organisation.

Over the three years we will also develop its role in providing training and clinical supervision for counsellors and others who provide support to individuals and communities in Herefordshire, and a Professional Associate Membership for trained counsellors and psychotherapists working in the Marches. Marches Counselling Service also works with employers to provide support for their staff, and with couples looking to improve their relationship.

Jennifer French, Clinical Director of MCS said about the funding “We are very grateful for the support from the Reaching Communities Fund and would like to thank Lottery players. We are not a crisis mental health service, but we are a service for people wanting to make lasting change in how they feel, and in their lives and relationships. We have a diverse and growing team of counsellors and psychotherapists, enabling us to help with a wide range of mental health and emotional problems.”
